Roger Gilchrist

Mr. Roger Gilchrist, of Hoover, AL went to be with his loving Lord on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the age of 63. He attended Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and was a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University. Roger was a devoted husband and loving father. He touched many lives with his incredible personality and his endless enthusiasm for life. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha, his wonderful daughter, Melissa and her husband Stuart, and grandson, Wesley Luke, of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Lee Gilchrist, wife Nancy of Polk City, Florida and his sister, Sue Gilchrist of Long Boat Key, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Gilchrist. His family will receive their friends on Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Todd Harrington officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Birmingham Baptist Association.
