Roger Brinkman age 89 formally from Michigan City, IN passed away at his home in Hueytown AL on October 29th, 2015. He proudly served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre 1st Cavalry Division. He worked for 33 years at Pullman Standard and 10 years at Rust Engineering. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Aviation Board. He was a train enthusiast, avid bowler and lifetime blood donor for 30 years. He was a Civil War Historian and LaPorte County Republican Precinct Committeeman.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Delores Januchowski Brinkman residing in Hueytown AL. and children Christine Harding (James), Laura Brinkman, Kevin Brinkman (Natalie) and Jeanne Robinson (Doug). Brother Norman Brinkman (Sandra), 10 grandchildren: Cary Brinkman (Joy), Heather Medina, Joey Brinkman (Estelle), Angie Longoria (Herman), Erica Burger (Jude), Ross Harding, Kaela Rawson (Jonathan), Cory Brinkman, Kara Brinkman, Cade Brinkman , 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Walter Brinkman and siblings, Charlotte Hollis (Jack) and Richard Brinkman (Irene) and son, Thomas Brinkman (Nancy).
Services will be held Monday, November 2nd at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home, Hoover AL. Visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 followed by chapel service and burial. Father Henry McDaid presiding.
