Robert Vick

Mr. Robert Lawrence Vick, of Hoover, AL, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born in Snow Hill, AL. He owned Vick Tire Co. and was active in many organizations. He served in the US Army and graduated from the University of Alabama. He enjoyed dancing and traveling to many different countries. He was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church and Dawson Memorial.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madelyn Reama Vick, parents, Edmond and Rebecca Ethel Vick, brothers, Kirby, Coleman, Pharas, and Donald L. Vick, sister, Aileen McNair, and grandchild, James Vick.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Vick, sons, Donald Vick (Jeanne) and Allan Morgan (Janet), daughters, Anita Wells (Tommy), Darlene Arceneaux, and Denise McClendon (Kent), sister, Frances Dearman, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from Monday, September 29, 2014, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with services following at 2 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
