Robert Sparks

Robert Earl Sparks, of Bessemer, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the age of 75. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. A real outdoorsman. He also loved athletics and excelled at them in high school. As an adult, he played various sports with church leagues and always enjoyed it. Robert was a rare breed of man, the type of husband and father who had unconditional love for his family and anyone associated with his family. He not only could do anything, but if you wished for it out loud, you would find that Robert had done it. His family will dearly miss this wonderful man. He is preceded in death by his father, Redie Sparks; his mother, Edith McIntyre Prinsen; brothers, Jim and Jerry Leach and Roger Sparks; and his first wife, Donna Sims Sparks.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Janice Glass Sparks; son, Bobby Sparks; stepchildren, Byron Carroll (Kat), Renee Carroll Wetzel, Danna Michele McAlpin (David), and Tonya Carroll Vice (Ken); grandson, Casey Sparks (Shelby); granddaughter, Kalee Sparks; great grandson, Cayson Sparks; a blend of 13 beloved grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9-11, Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Service will follow at 11:00 in the chapel, Pastor Mack Ritch and Pastor Larry Jones, officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
