Robert “Bob” Stephen Pacheco, of Hoover, Alabama passed away on November 7, 2019. He slipped into eternity peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Bob was born on November 10, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama. He served in the United States Army and was a highly decorated Captain in the Vietnam War. He spent most of his professional career working for the Department of Defense and was the head of the Government contracts division in Birmingham. He was also a softball coach for many years and was an assistant girls softball coach at Sanford University. Bob was an avid golfer and lover of all things sports related, especially his Alabama Crimson Tide football. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Pacheco; Mother, Eithel Pacheco; and brother, Jerry Pacheco.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary Cash Pacheco; Daughters, Lisa Ledbetter (Todd) and Laura Nabors (Les); and five grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua and James Ledbetter; and Savannah and Delaney Nabors. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne Pacheco (Patty) of Huntsville.
Funeral services will be held on his birthday on November 10, 2019, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with the funeral at 3:00 pm. He will be buried with full military honors on Tuesday, November 12, 1:15 pm at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
