Robert Newsome, Sr

Mr. Robert George Newsome, Sr., went to be with his Lord on Sept. 18, 2010. Born 12/29/42, Toccoa, GA. Preceded in death by his parents, George C. and Roberta M. Newsome. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marion Knight Newsome; 3 children, Bobby (Teresa), Scott (Windy) and Jennifer (Tim) Hughes; and the lights of his life, 7 wonderful GRANDS, Christopher, Robby, Christine, Levi, Victoria, Holly and Emily; and a brother, Larry (Phyllis) Newsome. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Schrade officiating. Interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Metro Church of God.
