Robert Hollingshead

Robert (Bob) Thomas Hollingshead took his first step into Heaven to be greeted by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Saturday morning, March 25, 2023.

He was born on September 8, 1943 in Brownsville, TN.

He is predeceased by his father, Thomas Jonas Hollingshead, and his mother Mary Catherine (Styers) Hollingshead. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann, his daughter Marti (Hollingshead) Carter, his son-in-law Paul Carter, grandson Caleb Carter, Katie (Carter) Fletcher and grandson-in-law Jonathan Fletcher.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Union University in 1966 and his Masters of Education degree from Memphis State University in 1970. He was employed by both the State of Tennessee and the State of Alabama as an educator.

He served as Minister of Music as well as organist in several churches throughout Tennessee and Alabama. He loved his church, Meadow Brook Baptist Church and served as organist there for twelve years.

He was always ready to laugh and loved his family, friends, neighbors and church community.

The family is grateful to Kirkwood by the River for their love and care of Bob during his last years.

We will always miss him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Meadow Brook Baptist Church Missions Ministry.

Visitation (10:30 a.m.) and the Service (noon) will be held at Meadow Brook Baptist Church on Thursday, March 30, 2023. A graveside service will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Jefferson Memorial Gardens South Cemetery on Highway 150 in Hoover.
