passed away February 1, 2008 at the age of 77. He was a life long resident of Birmingham, born December 11, 1930. Mr. Goodner was a 57 year member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1 and a master stone and brick mason. Mr. Goodner proudly served his country as a Marine in Korea from 1950-1951. He graduated from West End High School where he excelled in baseball, football and track. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Sadie Mae Andrew and Robert Wade Goodner; two brothers, Homer Wade Goodner and Jerry Goodner; and one grandson, Chase Black. He is survived by five children; Linda Whitehead, Dianne DeShazer (Robert), Robyn Hughes (Vince), Robert Goodner, Jr. (Michelle) and Daniel Goodner (Regina); and seven grandchildren, Jason Whitehead, Claire DeShazer, Randy Hughes, Taylor Black, Gloria Grace Goodner, Collin Goodner and Ethan Goodner. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 2-4 pm at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home on Highway 150 in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Dr. Les Hughes officiating.
