Robert Flaherty

Robert Hugh Flaherty, Major USAF Retired, of Helena, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the age of 88. He was born in New York City, NY, on August 4, 1922 to Daniel G. and Mary Lyle (Wallace) Flaherty. He retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. He was a decorated veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He is survived by 3 daughters, Mary Lyle (Fred) Card; Barbara (Jerry) Carchedi; and Dorothy "Dottie" Flaherty; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sun., Nov. 21 from 3 to 5 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Graveside service with full military honors will be held Monday, November 22 at 1 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Field of Honor. Church at Cahaba Bend Pastor Lyle Holland will officiate.
