Robert “Bob” Cohen, born September 16, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Saul and Grace Cohen. Graduated Proviso High School, Maywood, IL 1954. Attended and graduated from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, IL. President of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Former Trustee of Lake Forest College, where he met his wife of 59 years Margaret “Margie” Tegtmeyer. Was a former resident of Highland Park, IL for 35 years. Had two daughters, Midge, and Bobbi.
Career began at Esquire Magazine, which led to a long career in Chicago in Advertising and Marketing as an Account Executive/V.P. at Needham, Harper, and Steers and a V.P. for the Chicago branch of The New York Advertising Agency Benton and Bowles. Robert then used his creative style to begin Door County Orchards, Inc. A nonalcoholic beverage named Door County Coolers, the first of its time. In 1993 Robert Became the Executive V.P. of Marketing and Innovation for Quaker State Oil Company which led them to Oil City PA, then to Irving Texas. Upon retirement he began his own consulting firm named The Center for Innovation, Inc. Was a resident of Irving Texas for 22 years. Was currently living in Hoover, AL near daughter Bobbi.
Robert is survived by his wife Margie, daughter Midge (Jim) Berardi and daughter Bobbi (Randy) Hart-Stephenson. Granddaughters Jacki, Tina, Nicole and Jennifer Berardi. Grandsons Joey and Tommy Hart. Brother Toby (Rita) Cohen.
