Robert Battles

Mr. Robert E. Battles, 87, of Adamsville, AL passed away on May 4, 2020. Robert was born on January 12, 1933 in Oneonta, AL to the late Robert and Josie Tidwell Battles. He served in the Army for 16 years, ending his career as a Military Policeman. He loved to make everyone laugh and was a devoted Christian. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Johnson; brothers, Ross Battles and Pharon Battles; and sisters, Opal Price and Delilah Mae McWater.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Christine Rutledge Battles; son, Eddie (Robin) Battles; grandchildren, Michael (Misty) Johnson, Malia (Steven) Mitchell, Arianna (Joe) Spain, and Alexander Battles; great-grandchildren, John Michael and Breeana Mitchell, and Lux Johnson; and sister, Glenda (Dan) Sims.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family will have a private graveside service with Mel Futrell officiating.
