Angels welcomed Robbie C. "Bobbie" Morris into their loving care on July 5, 2017. She lived a wonderful life of 87 years and passed away at her home in Hoover, AL, surrounded by her daughters, Micki and Bonnie.
Bobbie was born on June 4, 1930, and spent her formative years in Millport, AL, with family and friends that were always dear to her. Bobbie, affectionately known as “Nanny”, had a beautiful smile and infectious laughter. She was a dedicated wife, a caring mother, and a devoted grandmother. Bobbie impacted the lives of many people whom she cherished and mentored. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and socializing with her numerous friends. Bobbie was a member of McCoy Methodist Church and Sandusky Methodist Church. She was also a member and mentor of the Twinkle Fingers Sewing Club. One thing Bobbie was known for was her specialty, creamed corn.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Rick Morris, and her granddaughter, Ashley Powell, who is considered the family’s little angel.
Bobbie leaves behind two daughters, Micki Powell (Louis) and Bonnie Morello (Charles); three grandchildren, Trey Powell (Tammi), Tyler Powell (Leah), and Laura Harris (Bradley); four great-grandsons, Adam Powell, Conner Powell, Madison Powell, and Harley Powell; and extended family. Bobbie devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 1-3 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. A service celebrating Bobbie’s life will immediately follow at 3 PM.
The family would like to thank members of Kindred Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given to Bobbie.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, AL, Kindred Hospice, or another charity.
