Richard Taylor, Jr

of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the age of 68. He was a graduate of Ensley High School and Birmingham Southern College. Mr. Taylor was a long-time businessman in the Birmingham area and the co-owner, with his father, of Continental Enterprises. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Joni Taylor; a son, Steven M. Taylor, M.D. (Barbara); three daughters, Amanda Taylor, Laura Gallivan (George) and Carolyn Taylor; and five grandchildren, Sara and Ryan Gallivan, Mitchell and Morgan Taylor, and Miranda Thacher. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 2007, from 9-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Debow officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family would like to give special thanks to New Beacon Hospice and Jack's nurse, Diane Johnson. They gave him wonderful care during his illness.
