Richard Bowling

Mr. Richard Jerome Bowling, age 59, of Bessemer, AL passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer. He graduated from Midfield High School and attended the University of Alabama where he was a cheerleader. He worked in the building industry most of his life. He loved Nascar racing and was an avid Alabama Football fan.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving parents, Hank and Mary Jayne Bowling.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie DiStasi (Jay) of Ocean Ridge, FL, brother, Philip Bowling (Susie) and sister, Pam Carpri (Charlie). Nephews, Philip Bowling, Jr., Peter Bowling, Michael Carpri (Jennifer) and Philip Carpri.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 2:00 - 3:00 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Memorial service at 3:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Prince of Peace Building Fund.
