Richard Barnes

of Hoover, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Elizabeth Barnes; a daughter, Kathleen Barnes Parks; three sons, Karl Anderson Barnes (Brenda), Richard Ringwald Barnes (Liz) and Robert Thomas Barnes (Connye); thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Erminie Wright and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 12-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Randy Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
