Reverend Carl Miller

Reverend Carl P. Miller, 93, of Bessemer passed away on August 24, 2019. He was born at 1314 15th Street on the 16th of May to the late Jesse Curtis Miller and Annie Mae Jenkins Miller. Reverend Miller served two years in the Army during World War II and four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a professional jokester. He served the Lord as a Minister in the Church of God and loved his family dearly.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carla Crow; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Butler Miller; sons, Leslie Miller, David Miller, and Phillip Miller; grandchildren, Ivy Davies and Jay Crow; great-grandchildren, Carli Davies and Jayden Davies; sister, Ruby Burchfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and fellow church members.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 with a one-hour visitation prior to the service at Caffee Junction Church of God at 21231 US-11, McCalla, AL 35111 with Reverend Roger Daniel officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover, AL.
