Rev. Neil Glausier passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the age of 87.
He was a true Man of God. To know him is to love him and know the Lord. He has impacted so many lives through his ministry, baptism, births, weddings and funerals. He was well known for his beautiful prayers. People say he had a hotline to God. He graduated from Mercer University then to attend New Orleans Seminary. His first church after seminary was Mulberry Baptist Church in Clanton, Al. Sherwood Baptist in Huntsville, Al Feb 64-Aug 70, being the first full time pastor. Dawson Memorial Baptist Church Associate Pastor 1970-1986. Shades Mtn Baptist Church Associate Pastor 1987-1998.
His love for the church was reflected in all parts of his life. He was married to a beautiful bride for 63+ years, Cecile Glausier. She was a true pastors wife. Such grace and beauty through all she did in and away from church. They had 2 children, Mark (Donna Guthrie) and Ruth Anne. Dad was the spiritual leader of our house. He was such a great role model. He carried all of those traits to his 6 grandchildren, Luke Glausier, Micah Glausier (wife Karoline) Taylor Stinson (wife Kristi), Mallory Stinson Scruggs ( husband Brett) Lindsay Kate Glausier Skinner (husband Jamison) and Leigh Ellen Luker Stephens ( husband Joseph).
8.5 great grand children, Riley Kate, Porter Neil, Wayde, Josiah, Will, Cecelia Elizabeth, Cohen Leigh and Finley Mae due in September .
The family is requesting letters or cards about how our dad impacted your life or a funny story. Our family was so blessed to have had him in our lives. We would like to make a memory book for grandchildren, greatgrands and future family members to see what a legacy he was to us and others.
Our dad is not her on earth with us but forever will be in our hearts. He is with our Heavenly Father. We will see him again. And that gives us peace.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2020, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Dr. Danny Woods and Rev. Micah Glausier officiating. Burial will be at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery.
