Rena Kent

of Montevallo, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006, at the age of 85. She was a member of Wilton Bible Baptist Church and was a retired bookkeeper from Thompson High School after 30 years service. Mrs. Kent was a loving mother and "Gran". She is survived by a son, John A. "Tony" Kent, Jr. (Sandy) of Bend, Oregon; a daughter, Dian Kent McCray (Rudy) of Alabaster; 3 grandchildren, Amy K. Borovich (Fred) of Longview, WA, John A. Kent IV (Cindy) of Lakenheath, RAF, Great Britain, and Matthew L. McCray (Kristal) of Alabaster; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Margaret Atchison, of Birmingham, and Ruth Glass of Alabaster. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Hammett officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
