Regina Whitehead

Mrs. Regina (Gina) Crawford Whitehead, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left this world for her heavenly home in the early morning hours Sept. 11, 2013, one day after her 83rd birthday. Survivors include husband Henry (Hank) Whitehead of Hoover, formerly of Nashville TN, daughter Ann Langley (Jim) of Hoover, daughter Beth Karr (Jerry) of Rolla MO, son Bob Whitehead (Melody) of Rembert SC, son Jim Whitehead (Linda) of Knoxville TN, 7 grandchildren, one of whom predeceased her, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the extraordinary caregivers at Galleria Woods Skilled Nursing and the UAB Palliative Care Center for tending to Gina with such compassion and dignity through her final 2 years. A celebration of Gina’s life will occur at First Christian Church – Birmingham (4954 Valleydale Road, 35242) at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Sept. 14. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Gina’s name be made to the Memorial Garden Fund at First Christian Church, Birmingham or to Hillwood Presbyterian Church, 6220 Hickory Valley Rd. Nashville, TN 37205.
