age 78, of Homewood, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007. She was born in 1929 in Cameron, WV and attended Cameron Elementary and High School, class of 1948. Mrs. Pritchett graduated from Ashland College, Ashland, OH, in 1952 and received a Bachelors Degree in Music. She taught music in Ohio and Texas schools before moving to Alabama. She married L. D. Pritchett, Hamilton, AL in 1964. Mrs. Pritchett was a life-time member of the Living Church of God, formerly the Worldwide Church of God. Mr. and Mrs. Pritchett lived in Hamilton, Alabama, and she taught music at Belgreen School, as well as, private piano lessons to students from Hamilton, Haleyville, and Phil Campbell. In Hamilton and after moving to Homewood, she and her husband owned and operated Pritchett's Piano Sales and Service for 30 years, while she continued teaching private music lessons. She sang with the Birmingham Concert Chorale for several years and took private voice lessons from Evelyn Beasley Errolle, director of Errolle Studio of Voice and Opera. Mrs. Pritchett was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, L. D. Pritchett; her father, John Earl Burley; and mother, Bertha Bell Simmons of Cameron, WV. She is survived by nieces by marriage, Patricia F. Ryan (David) of Birmingham and Judy P. Danford (Bob) of Castle Rock, CO; sisters-in law, Grace Pritchett Farr of Hamilton, Luna Hudson of Jasper, and Flara V. Webb of Gardendale, brothers-in law, J.C. Pritchett (Willa Dean), Eugene Pritchett (Jean), Sterling Pritchett (Frankie) all of Forestdale, and R.C. Pritchett of Cahaba Heights; and a host of nieces and nephews by marriage. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Carl Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
