Quinton Merryman

May 5, 2014 — April 3, 2016

Quinton Dupree Merryman, of Hoover, passed away at only 22 months old. "Quin" had a mischievous laugh that was irresistible and his joy was infectious. His beloved sock-monkey companion "Monk-Monk" was never far away. Quinton was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive type of brain tumor, and received treatments for many months at Children's Hospital of Alabama. Following weeks of intense symptoms, he passed easily in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family (and Monk-Monk). Despite his brief life, his impact on the world was vast and we are all better for having known him.

Quinton is survived by his Father, Paul Quinton Merryman and Mother, Tara Galloway Merryman, both of Hoover, AL; Grandparents, Dupree and Soneia Galloway (Northport, AL) and Jim and Phyllis Merryman (Northport, AL); Godmother, Mary Thomas (Hoover, AL); Godparents, Randy and Kim Harmon (Alabaster, AL); Godsister, Kaitlin Matherly (Alabaster, AL); and MANY friends and admirers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 6pm at Riverchase Church of Christ, with visitation preceding from 4pm to 6pm. Officiating will be ministers Chuck Webster and Cy Stafford. Children are welcome and super-hero attire is optional.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's Hospital of Alabama, The North Alabama Christian Children's Home, or the Music Opportunity Program.
