Phillip Zachary Currie, of Trussville, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the age of 37. He was a 2000 graduate of Jacksonville High School and had been an employee of Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover.
Zach was a very talented singer and musician and was a former worship leader at the Center of Hope in Anniston, where he initially started the worship team. He was a witty and fun loving person who people loved to be around. Zach loved his family, especially his 9 year old son, Beckham, who he got to spend quality time with on Christmas Day.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jabe, Jr. and Nellie Jo Currie and Bill and Minnie Waddell.
Zach is survived by his son, Beckham Jabe Currie; his parents, Phil and Julie Currie; 2 sisters, Liana Thompson (Ronta) and Lauren Dailey (Patrick); 8 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Garry Burns, Pastor Kent Mattox and Pastor Gresh Harbuck officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
