Philip (Phil) Tryon, 92, of Helena, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2024. Born on June 19, 1931, in Kansas City, KS to Glenn and Jesse Francis Tryon, but was raised by Glenn and Teresea Tryon from the age of 2 years old.
Phil joined the Army in 1952-1957. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of master sergeant and spent twenty years in the Army National Guard.
Phil was owner and CEO of Real-A-Stakes in 1992 and retired December 31, 2020.
Phil married Imogene E. Clark on April 11, 1997, and was happily married for 27 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Phil was known for his incredible sense of humor, and loved to tell jokes to make you laugh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7th at The Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Memorial Gardens, 2701 Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244, 1:00pm for visitation with funeral service following at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice Health Care or the American Cancer Society.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, son David E. Tryon, daughter Gayla K. Tryon (Burks), son-in-law Steve W. Ruoff, and brother-in-law Bob Riley. Phil leaves behind his spouse, Imogene, a sister Beverly Riley, a daughter Dee (Tryon) Ruoff, a son Dale L. Tryon, son Duane Buchanan (Michelle), a stepson Scott Clark (Shannon), a stepdaughter Tiffany Estrada (Rob), stepdaughter Lisa Elgazzar (Solomon), stepson Steve Wideman (Patsy), and many grandchildren/great-grandchildren.
