Surrounded by his loving family and friends, left us peacefully on March 25, 2007. He was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church and was employed by Bill Harbert International for forty-five years. Sol will be remembered for his love and devotion to family and his service to the church. A longtime resident of the Birmingham area, Sol is survived by his loving wife, Terry; daughters, Wendy and Sandra; his son-in-law, Jay; sister Genevieve; and sister-in-law Elsie (Sheldon). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as friends, both local and international, whom he loved dearly. Sol is preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie; parents, Kathryn and Peter Lepp; and brother Victor. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jim Strickland and Dr. Jay Heidecker as well as the nursing staff of the Fourth Floor South Tower at St. Vincent's Hospital and Trish Morrison, R.N., with Mid South home health, for the excellent care they provided our loved one. The family is also grateful to Dr. Robert Cerfolio, Dr. Francisco Robert, Dr. Sharon Spencer, and nurses and staff at Kirklin Clinic. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, March 28, from 7:00-9:00PM at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29, at 1:00PM at First Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kurtis Schultz, Rev. Nathan Schuetze, and Vicar Tom Lackey officiating and Mr. Bobby Woods as organist. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family requests that any memorials be made to your favorite charity.
