Percy Thigpen

of Vestavia, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen B. Thigpen; sons, Stanley Thigpen (Tana Lee), Vestavia Hills and Ed Thigpen of Helena; grandchildren, Lisa Nicholson (Shannon) and Art Thigpen; great grandchildren, Brandon, Briana, and James Moss; caring nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Prentiss Scott (Clair). He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bessie Thigpen; brothers, Delwin, Novice, and Byron; sister, Mary Annie Read; daughter in law, Glenda Thigpen. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2007, from 12:30-2:30 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Chapel service will follow at 2:30 PM with Dr. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shades Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.
