Paula Overstreet

Mrs. Paula Fields Overstreet, of Hoover, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the age of 65. She was a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church for the past 35 plus years where she taught Sunday School classes for a number of years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James R. Overstreet; a daughter, Lesley Garrett (Bill); a son, Chris Overstreet (Beth); four grandchildren, James P. Overstreet, Harrison Garrett, Christopher and Alison Rocco; her mother, Mary Fields; and a brother, Robert Fields (Edna). The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 1 to 2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Denis Tanner officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
