Paul Simmons Sr.

Paul Howard Simmons Sr., age 71, of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 4, 2025. Paul was born on March 12, 1953. He graduated from Ramsay High School in 1971.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter Sonya Leigh Simmons, his parents C.J. and Louise Simmons, his brother Julian Simmons and sister-in-law Denice Simmons.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 51 years, Rhonda Mosley Simmons, his sons Paul Jr. and Craig (Morgan), his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Pops, Cooper, Hannah, Grayson, and Gaines, his sister Brenda (Chris), his brother Barry (Teresa) and many other family members.

Paul was a highly skilled tradesman and had a gift to build or repair anything in his path. He was a master electrician by trade and also spent many years working for Coca-Cola. He enjoyed the off-road industry and spent many years working at Sport Trucks, Dirt Bike Supply and Max Motorsports.

His talents and hard work were evident in everything he touched. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Outside of work he found joy in the outdoors and cherished time with friends at Big Sandy Hunting Club. Paul was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Services will be held on March 10, 2025 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Highway 150 in Hoover. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10am-11am and the Celebration of Life will start at 11am followed by graveside.

In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to American Lung Association or Huntington's Disease Society of America.
