Paul V. Moore (59) passed away October 10, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth W. Moore (father), Cornelia Moore (mother). Paul was survived by his wife of 28 years, Bonnie Moore, his daughters Anna Grace Moore, Amy Catherine Moore, and his brother, Hardy Moore (Alma), his sister Mary Catherine Nance (Bob), along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from one end of the map to the other.
Paul owned Lorna Music Academy for 30 years in Hoover, Alabama. He graduated from the Conservatory of Guitar, San Antonio, TX and studied under David Walbert, Herb Ellis, Jackie King, and numerous other jazz/classical instructors including Chet Atkins. Paul was a mentor to many guitar instructors and friends in Birmingham; Steve Garrett (Music Alley), Bob Tedrow (Homewood Musical Instruments), Alan Barlow (Fretted Instruments); Forbes Piano, Nuences Music, Mars Music, and Guitar Center. Paul was a long time member of Super Jazz in Birmingham. He also played with Joe Giatinna’s Big Band, Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Foxy Fatts, Five-O rock band, John Knolls and Clyde Kendrick in the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society, and numerous other rock and Christian rock bands, classical venues, and instrumental jazz combos.
