Paul Mcgowan, Sr

age 97, of Bessemer, AL was born March 12, 1912 and died December 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie McGowan and two sons, Jerry and Charles McGowan both of Bessemer. He is survived by his children, Paul B. McGowan, Jr. (Ann) and Bonnie McGowan both of Bessemer; a daughter, Ethleen Lindsey of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 7, 2009, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Steven Pylant officiating. The family would like to thank the caregivers, a nephew Doug McGowan, Helping Hands Hospice Group and nurse Diane Layfield.
