Paul Matthews

Paul John Matthews passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, with his sons by his side. Paul was born March 24, 1932 in Kramer Indiana to Theodora (Jacobson) Matthews and Kazemir Matthews, the local doctor who delivered his son. Paul had two sisters, Ellen and Ruth, who predeceased him.

He grew up in the area until graduating high school and then he joined the Marine Corps where he served from 1952 to 1955. While in the Marines, Paul met the love of his life, Bernice Busby, and they were married soon after he completed his service. They had 2 sons, and family became the center of his life; all the time making a career, ultimately becoming a US Postal Inspector. Paul was baptized into the church in 1970 and was a Member of Shades Crest Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his sons , Paul (Cindy) and Joe (Carla), his granddaughters Elizabeth and Catherine (Cody), nieces, nephews and other family and the kids of Bluff Park that he loved.
