Olen Cole

Our precious and beloved Olen went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents Odis and Myrtice Cole; sister Ruth (Buddy) Ford; brother Raymond Cole; wives Jewel Cole and Clemmie Cole; niece Dianne (Harold) Henderson.
He is survived by his sister Grace (Charles) Stewart; nieces Teresa (Ray) Ingle, Susan (Randy) Vice and Becky (John) Willis; nephew David Ford; and several grand-nieces, grand-nephews and great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
Olen served his country honorably as a U.S. Marine. Starting with the City of Bessemer Fire Department in 1954, he advanced through the ranks to Captain in 1964 and on to become Fire Chief in 1974 where he remained until his retirement in 1988.
The family expresses heartfelt love and deep appreciation for Olen's special "angels": Rita and Rodney Bates, Luvater "Lou" Smith, Christy Killingsworth and Tina Smith for their love and care given to Olen.
Services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 2 PM. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM.
