Norma Alley

of Hoover, passed away on December 26, 2005 at the age of 82. She was the organist at Bluff Park United Methodist Church for 37 years, and prior to that, she was the organist for Fairfield United Methodist Church for 6 years. Mrs. Alley was a member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church for the past 45 years. During her career she studied under Dr. Joseph Schreiber at Birmingham Southern College Conservatory of Music. After retiring as an organist, she participated in several area music clubs. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Thomas Alley, whom she married June 17, 1955; a daughter, Jennifer Dean Alley of Hoover; a brother, James Miller Crumley of McDonald's Chapel; a nephew, Marion R. Crumley of McDonald's Chapel; and many cousins. There will be a private family graveside service on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Bluff Park United Methodist Church from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a memorial to follow at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Reid Crotty officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the organ fund or building fund at Bluff Park United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.
