Nina was born in California, September 10, 1928, to Midwestern parents and educated in Texas; worked as a secretary, school teacher, Deputy US clerk, resource associate in Texas, California, Florida, North Carolina and Alabama; married in Florida; two children born in North Carolina and able to be a stay-at-home mom. She was a proud resident of Alabama beginning in 1961; a Life Member of the Garden Club of Alabama; a traveler with the Friendship Force; an environmentalist, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels Better Basics, the Birmingham Museum of Art, and Friends of the Hoover Public Library Book Store. Nina was an elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA); a long-time active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church; presented with an Honorary Life Membership in the Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Inc. by the Presbyterian Women of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruebie Winston Bothwell; husband, E. Earl Cranor Jr., brother Robert Winston Bothwell.
She is survived by her children E. Earl Cranor, III (Tina), Susan Cranor Harper (Jim); grandchildren Lauren Fitzgerald (Doug), and Michelle Harper; great grandchildren Charlie Fitzgerald and Oliver Fitzgerald; sister Josephine Luther (Oliver) and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Nina on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 1124 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216 with a reception following in Grace Hall.
