Nicholas Peters, Jr

Nicholas J. "Nick" Peters, Jr., of Hoover, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the age of 91. He was born in Savannah, GA to Alva and Nick Peters, Sr. and moved to Birmingham at a young age. Nick served in the Air Force and later went to work for Brown Shoe Co. After retirement from Brown, he sold real estate for a number of years. Nick was a member of Chase Lake Country Club, The Club and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ruth S. Peters, and his sister, Kitty P. Galloway. He is survived by his son, Nick Peters III (Patti); stepdaughter, Sharon Johnson; stepson, Steven Greenfield (Leslie); grandchildren, Nicholas Peters IV (Amanda), Christian Peters (Ashley), Shannon Williams (Steve); step grandson, Nathan Johnson; and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM, Father John Fallon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
