Mona Hammock

Mona Sizemore Hammock, of Hoover, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the age of 86. She is a long-term member of Hoover First Baptist Church. Mrs. Hammock was also active in the Birmingham Ballroom Dance Association and JBY Ballroom Dance Club. She retired from Lloyd Nolan Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dwight Hammock and her son-in-law, John Allen. She is survived by her son, Mike Hammock (Sandy); her daughter, Nita Allen; and her son, Lynn Hammock (Libby); 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10-12, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 in the funeral home chapel, Dr. Randy Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery #2 in Holly Pond at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southeast Hospice Network.
