Miriam O. Finch

July 17, 1934 - January 25, 2024

Finch, Miriam Oglesby, at the age of 89, passed away to Glory on January 25, 2024.

She was born July 17, 1934, in Birmingham, AL. At age 14 she had lost both her parents and was raised by Aunts and Uncles. She completed High School and was in the 1st graduating class of Shades Valley High School and then completed her college education at Montevallo. 

She married the love of her life on September 14, 1956, and embarked on a 62-year love story! Her and Dad modeled the way a marriage is supposed to look and be!

She worked as a truant officer for the City of Birmingham and gained the nickname "Bull Dog". The stories she would tell at the evening dinner table were amazing. Mom was "Mom" to so many people, loved her family and others well. She served, prayed and encouraged others and always put others first.

She is survived by her son Orland Bolding Finch, III of Birmingham, AL, her son Raleigh Oglesby Finch (Amy) of Jasper, AL., and her son Timothy Joseph Finch (Kelly) of Birmingham, AL, grandson Christopher Evans Crane, granddaughters Jessica Michele Carney (Brandon), Deanna Camille Finch, Ada Nicole Finch Usrey (Chad), Martha Emory Crane, great granddaughter Sutton Blake Carney and great grandson Wilder Fitz Carney

She also leaves behind her beloved friends and family from Fullness Christian Fellowship.

While our family grieves at this tremendous loss, we also rejoice in knowing she has been reunited with her Buddy!

Services will be held at Fullness Christian Fellowship Church on February 2, 2024, 2575 Columbiana Road, Birmingham, AL 35216. Public visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. and a brief graveside prayer following the service at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.
