Mildred Ann Tatum, age 80 of Maylene, AL, joined her Heavenly Father on October 24, 2013. Accomplishments include creating thespian troupe at Shades Valley High School, performed between movies at the Alabama Theatre, finalist in The Chicago Music Festival of 1949, finalist in Miss Alabama Pageant, awarded 3 scholarships to B'ham Southern College. Major appearances with B'ham Civic Opera, Huntsville Civic Opera, Soprano soloist Highlands Meth. Church for 20 yrs. Principal performer with Town and Gown Theater, many other musical accomplishments. Remembered as wife, mother and Nana. She is survived by husband of 61 yrs. Bob Tatum, 2 sons Robbie (Louise) and Steve (Marla), a sister, Mary Evelyn Anderson of Miami, FL, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 11 AM to 1 PM at First Baptist Church of Pelham. Funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Dr. Mike Shaw officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Alabama Cancer Society or The Salvation Army.
