Mildred Davis

of Alabaster, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the age of 79. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mrs. Davis was a devoted mother and "Granny" to all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Obie Davis; two brothers, James and Cecil Allen; and a sister, Callie Farlow. She is survived by a son, Ray Davis (Jo Ann) of Greystone; three grandchildren, Chad Davis (Erin), Jennifer Dent (Mathew) and Katie Meyerpeter (Scott) all of Birmingham; four great-grandchildren, Quinn Davis, Thornton and Chapel Dent and Pierce Meyerpeter; and a brother, Milton Allen (Louise) of Alabaster. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2009, from 5-7 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover, AL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Joe Raines officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Granny was truly a special friend to all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
