Mildred Coker

April 30, 1921 — February 5, 2017


Mildred Marie Hamlet Coker went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2017. She served Him faithfully at Shawmut First Baptist Church and was a current member at Hunter Street Baptist Church. She retired from West-Point Stephens finishing department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Earnest Coker, her son, Danny Wilford Coker; her great grandson, Robert Harrison Campbell; and her brothers and sister. Mrs. Coker is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Coker Boone (Tom), Beverly Coker Teague (Tim), and Barbara Hamlet McDow (Larry); her daughter-in-law, Sandee Owen Coker; her grandchildren, Thomas Nelson Boone III (Amy), Major Jenny Lynn Coker (Major Robert Campbell), Jesse Daniel Coker, Sarah Maria Coker, Rebekah Teague Asselin (Josh), Timothy James Teague, Benjamin McDow, Rachel McDow Austin (Adam), Meredith McDow Austin (Mark), and John McDow; her great grandchildren, Madelyn Joy Knox, Teagan Asselin, Thomas Nelson Boone, IV, Kai Leigh Austin, Dorothy Willmon, and Harley McDow; her sisters in law , Marcell Coker Berry (Dadeville, AL) and Olgie Coker Potts (Somerset, KY); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017; from 11 AM - 12 PM, at Hunter Street Baptist Church - Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at noon, Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. Interment with be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL, prior to the service on Friday, February 10 at 9:30 AM.
