Michael Tucker

Mr. Michael Louis Tucker of Birmingham went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 10, 2012, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Mike was born in Chattanooga, TN and grew up in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Tucker, Jr. of Birmingham. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Hilda Gomez Tucker, and their children, Peggy Tucker Lee, Connie Tucker Hampton (Don) and Michelle Tucker Caine (Alva). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Niki Burns (James), Pilar Lee, Garrison Lee, Ian Pencak, Andrew Hampton, Jacob Hampton, Alva Caine, Katherine “Paloma” Caine, and Isabella Hampton. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Margaret “Missy” Redfern (C.W.) of Marietta, GA and brother, The Rev. Thomas “Tommy” Tucker (Joan) of Dunlap, TN. Mike retired from the District Attorney’s Office after 30 years of service. Before practicing law, he served in the United States Marine Corp and worked as a golf professional at Dorado Beach Resort in PR. He attended Alabama College (now Montevallo) and Cumberland School of Law. Mike belonged to numerous clubs and organizations. He loved playing golf, pool, and reading. Funeral services will take place at Shades Mountain Independent Church in Hoover at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 15th followed by the burial at Veterans National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Shades Mountain Independent Church Missions fund.
