Michael Lewis Edney

Michael Lewis Edney, age 62 of Hoschton, GA passed away peacefully at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Braselton on July 28, 2023, with his sister by his side. He was born February 22, 1961 in Birmingham, AL and had become a resident of Georgia for over 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Jewel  W. Edney; and his partner, for over 21 years, Arthur (Rock) Portwood. He is survived by his sister, Lisa Edney (Birmingham, AL) and many loving relative and friends.

Michael retired from AT&T with over 30 years of service, he was a graduate of W.A. Berry High School and also attended The University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Graveside services and Celebration of Life will be held on August 26, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.  Paula Edney and Jim Lehman will be officiating.

Michael’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the care he received from the Doctors and Nurses at North Georgia Medical Center, Braselton.
