Melba Standridge

STANDRIDGE, MELBA J. "BOOTS," formerly of Bessemer, left us to join our Maker on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the age of 74. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert "Buddy" Standridge. She is survived by son, Mike Standridge (Diana) of Nashville, TN; daughter, Debbie Tombrello (Jim) of Pelham; grandchildren: Tressy Wilson, Kelly Bratton, Chris and Jaime Green, Brandy Acosta, and Tiffany and Mistye Standridge; great grandchildren, Koby and Andrew Bratton, Nicholas and Jennifer Wilson, Kacie Morton, Paige, Daniel, Isaiah Acosta, Trent Green, and Kevin Ellington; brother, William D. Sanford of Troy; sisters, Juanita Manning of Bessemer, and Evelyn Hromy of Georgia. She was a very loving wife, the best mother in so many ways, and the best Nana you could have ever wanted. She is going to be greatly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to say a special thank you to the Balm of Gilead Palliative Care Center for their compassion toward Melba. Graveside services will be held 11:00 Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on Hwy 150 in Hoover with Rev. Lee Ferrell officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover.
