Mayrene Lovelady

age 86, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She was an outgoing, fun-loving, and talented lady who was always the life of the party. Mrs. Lovelady was a gifted seamstress who took great pride in making beautiful dresses, Christmas stockings, quilts, and afghans for her loved ones. A lifelong reader, she never lost her enjoyment of learning new things. Mrs. Lovelady lived most of her life in Helena, Alabama and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Helena. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lovelady. Mrs. Lovelady is survived by her daughters, Darlene Hornsby and Sandra Bailey (Warren); her son, Lynn Lovelady (Marti); and her sister, Edith Johnson Elliott. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren that she loved. The family will receive friends from 12-2 on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Helena. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM, Bro. Bill Heaton officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to FBC Helena.
