Maurice Arnold

Maurice Otis Arnold
October 12, 1933 -December 22, 2020

Maurice Otis Arnold was born in St. Louis, MO on October 12, 1933 to Noble & Margaret Arnold.  He was the 2 nd Oldest of 5 children.  Maurice had 3 sisters Zanie Mae Cochran (deceased), Esther Winston (deceased) and his only remaining sister Veloise Moore.  He had one brother Oland Arnold (deceased).

Maurice joined the United States Army in 1952-1954 at the tender age of 18.  There he served in the Korean War. While serving in the Korean War, he was in a fierce battle taking on heavy enemy fire when one of his comrades was injured by gunfire.  He was told by his commanding officer to stand down and from going out to rescue the wounded soldier.  Without any regard for his personal safety, he disobeyed the order and rescued the wounded soldier, putting him on his back and brought him back to safety.  Because of his bravery, he was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism by President Truman, who pinned the medal on his chest.

After his service in Korea, he continued his service to his country by joining the Army Reserve for a total service of 28 years, where he retired In Denver, CO as a Sergeant.
Maurice worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, MI, Rocky Mountain Arsenal & Buckley Air Force Base in Denver, CO,

Maurice became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Detroit, MI. and worked as a Literature Evangelist.  While working as an Literature Evangelist, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Lewis, a widow with 4 kids (Martin, Joyce, Marshell & Tony).  Maurice & Elizabeth were married in 1964 and unto this union they had a daughter (Malisa Arnold) in 1965.  The couple raised their children in a Christian home where they worshipped the Lord 2 to 3 times a day, 7 days a week.  The family enjoyed worshipping the Lord through music, and prayer.

On December 22, 2020, Maurice went to sleep in Jesus, anticipating the Second Coming of Christ, when.. "The Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel and the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first.  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."1Thessalonians 4:16-18

Maurice was well-beloved and leaves to cherish his memory, Elizabeth Arnold (wife), Malisa Abrahams (daughter), Leroy-spouse, Martin Arnold (son) Charlotte-spouse, Joyce Pullman (daughter), Marshell Pullman (son) Jacquelyn-spouse, & Tony Pullman (son), 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, one sister Veloise Moore & husband Jim and a host of nieces and nephews.
