Marylou Carlton

of Homewood, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the age of 79. She had worked as an airline stewardess and a real estate agent and was a charter member of Presbyterian Church of the Hills. Mrs. Carlton loved to shop, knit, listen to instrumental music, camping - even white water rafting. She had an adventuresome spirit. She loved her children and grandchildren, and was a wonderful homemaker and hostess. A very giving person. She was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, O. J. "Jeff" Carlton, Jr. She is survived a son, Jeff Carlton (Cheri) of Birmingham; three daughters, Ann Baker (George) of Batavia, IL, Babs Foster (Wade) of Leeds and Carol Franklin (Terry) of Leeds; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Gifford Walker of Harrison, TN; a sister, Beatrice Hartley (Jim) of Pelham; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 22, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Jeff Carlton officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family requests memorials be made to Presbyterian Church of the Hills. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
