Hoover

Mrs. Mary Glenn Lollar Hankins of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on September 19, 2021, at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She grew up in Columbus, Mississippi and graduated from Heritage Academy in 1975. She attended Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus and Wallace Community College near Dothan, Alabama. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband and three children. After her children were grown she worked for many years as a care-giver to both children and older adults. She was an active member of Shades Crest Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her flower beds, cooking and doing crafts. Although small in stature, she was very strong in her faith and her love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Henry and Mary Ellen Parker Lollar. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Anthony Wayne Hankins, two sons, Wesley Adam and Jason Michael Hankins, a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hankins, a sister, Jayn Leigh Lollar Collins, several nieces and nephews, and recently discovered “bonus” family, Billie Eaves, Craig and Sharon Busher, and Karen Marcile.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date
