Mary Ellen Upton

Mary Ellen Key Upton, of Homewood, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the age of 85.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Nettie Key and her brother, Johnny Key.  She is survived by her children, Roger Upton of Homewood, Melissa Upton Prater of Alabaster, Randy Upton (Tricia) of Hoover, and Teresa Upton Fagan (James) of Centre; 7 grandchildren, Leigh Ellen Brummerhoff of Gadsden, James Fagan, Jr. (Emily) of Ocean Springs, MS, Dori Carpenter (Mark) of Hoover, Jarod Upton of Trussville, Sarah Owens (Adam) of Alabaster, Travis Prater (Candace) of Bedias, TX, and Sam Prater (Sydni) of Helena; 10 great grandchildren, Malaki Fagan, Hayden Carpenter, Kendall Carpenter, Kylie Ann Carpenter, Ethan Prater, Wilhelm Brummerhoff, Audrey Prater, Asher Owens, Dawson Prater, and Addison Prater; and her sister, Majorian Justice.

The family will receive friends from 10-11, Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover.  Funeral will follow at 11:00 in the chapel, Bro. Tony Barber officiating.  Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
