Today we lay to rest a lady who can only be described as one who: brightened the hardest of hearts with her smile; comforted those in need with her warm spirit; eased the minds of the weary with her gentle voice; provided hope to the lost with her unquestionable faith; was a stronghold for those blessed to be called family, fortunate for those called friends, and lucky for those who even crossed her path; Whose motherly gift was cherished to her core and was thought to help sustain her ultimate pleasure in life; Whose love of life radiated from her core and permeated off her like morning spray of perfume; Who was, is, and will always be the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, relative, and friend one could ever ask for in life. Her life should not be one to inspire envy but rather should be the mold for the cast of the many who will follow. She is survived by her husband, Jack W. Maze, two sons, Billy Maze and Jeff Maze (Christi), a daughter, Necia Wear (Frank), a sister, Shirley Whaley, five grandchildren, Ben Wear (Mallory), Amanda Maze, Brittany Wear (Robby Parker), Jacob Maze, and Sam Maze, special nieces, nephews, a host of friends and caregivers, Celestine Cokely and Gloria Berry. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 2 PM. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church.
