Mary Fortenberry

Mary Frances Garrett Fortenberry, of Alabaster, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at the age of 82.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Edward "Bobby" Fortenberry, Sr.; and her daughter, Barbara Joyce Fortenberry. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Ann Fortenberry, Mary Lynn Fortenberry Tidwell (Rowdy), Cornelia Gail "Nelia" Fortenberry; her son, Robert Edward Fortenberry, Jr. (Beth); 5 grandchildren, Robert James "Robby" Boothe (Rebecca), Garrett Mathew Fortenberry, Sarah Ashley Fortenberry, Betty Lois McCray (Joseph), Patricia Joice "PJ" Fortenberry; and 6 great grandchildren, Tatum Belle Boothe, Meadow Reese Boothe, Lilah James Boothe, Blake Enola Smith, Tyler Joseph McCray, and Avery Nicole McCray.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30, Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow at 10:30 in the chapel, Dr. Mike Shaw and Chaplain David Deter officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to New Beacon Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes.
