Mary Fisher-Klemenc

March 13, 1933 — December 7, 2019

Mary passed away peacefully on December 7, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She was born on March 13, 1933 to her parents, John Olen and Blanche Marie Holdsambeck in Woodstock, Alabama.  She graduated from West Blocton High School and then moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she lived the rest of her life.  Mary had a zest for life and never met a stranger.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister,  and friend.  A lifetime Alabama fan (Roll Tide!) she loved watching college football games and all of her friends found humor in the fact that she married a yankee Notre Dame fan.  She loved family time playing cards and board games.  She loved dancing and was an active member of the Concordia Dance Club and Cherimis Ladies Dance Club.  She was a founding member and a former president of the Appris Women’s Club of Birmingham.  She attended Central Park Baptist Church for many years and later attended Valleydale Baptist church.  She loved to travel and visited every state but one. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Fisher and her parents.

Mary is survived by her second husband, Elmer Klemenc; her brother, John Olen Holdsambeck, Jr; daughters, Kathy Parke (Charlie) and Traci Halbert (Glen); son, Lee Fisher (Anita); and grandchildren, John Parke, Megan Parke and John Halbert; also her extended family, Ann Mersmann (Jeff), Mary Mayo (Tom),  Kay Hornick (Brad), and John Klemenc (Stacey).

A private service will be held on December 10, 2019, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
